Dina Pedro holds a B.A. in English Studies, an M.A. in Secondary Education Teacher, an M.A. in Advanced English Studies (MAES) and a PhD in Literature and Culture from the University of Valencia (UV).
Between 2018 and 2023 she was a funded PhD candidate (FPU grant awarded by the Spanish Ministry of Universities) at the Department of English and German at UV. In 2023 she worked as an Substitute Lecturer at the University of Córdoba (Spain). Since September 2023 she works as an Assistant Professor in the Department of English and German at UV.
Her research interests focus on the intersection of gender, trauma and postcolonialism in neo-Victorian gothic fiction. She has also recently started to research on ageing and medical humanities in young adult literature focusing on the figure of the vampire.
She is a member of the research group LAP (Ref.: GIUV 2017-354, PI Laura Monrós-Gaspar) and the research project "Re-orienting Assemblage Theory in Anglophone Literature and Culture" (RELY), funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation (Ref. PID2022-137881NB-I00, PI Rosario Arias). She is also on the editorial board of the journal REDEN
She's co-editor of 'Lost, Unhappy and at Home': The Impact of Violence on Irish Culture, vol. 1 and 2, with Maria Gaviña-Costero and Donall Mac Cathmhaoill (Peter Lang 2024).
She's secretary of the PopMec Association (Association for Popular Culture Studies) (Execuive Board 2025-2029).
She's a member of the teaching innovation group INNOVALingua-EIA (ref. GCID25-3799451; PI Andreea Rosca).
