Josefa Pérez Blasco holds a PhD in Psychology from the University of Valencia (1994) and has been Associate Professor in the Department of Developmental and Educational Psychology at the same university since 1999. Her teaching career has focused on the degree programs in Psychology and Education, in subjects related to Developmental Psychology and Educational Psychology, as well as in the Master’s Degrees in General Health Psychology and Secondary School Teacher Training, and at the Senior University of the Polytechnic University of Valencia.

Her research work focuses on promoting healthy development and fostering resilience in coping with developmental transitions and crises. She has been part of multidisciplinary research groups aimed at empirically investigating the effectiveness of mindfulness and self-compassion training programs, as well as their benefits in stress management and in improving health and well-being, both in the general population and in groups exposed to stressful life situations.
