Biography

He holds a degree in Mathematics from the University of Valencia (1997) and a PhD from the University of Extremadura (2004). He was a lecturer in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Extremadura from 1999 to 2016, where he held positions as Associate Professor (Full-Time), Collaborating Professor and Contracted Doctoral Professor. He is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics for Economics and Business at the University of Valencia. His current lines of research are the development of data envelopment analysis (DEA) models and their implementation in R, time series analysis using continuous wavelet transform techniques, mathematical programming and multi-criteria analysis. Other previous lines of research include nonlinear analysis, in particular nonlinear integral equations and chaotic dynamical systems.  He has also taken a keen interest in the mathematical application to various problems in biophysics, geophysics and economics, among others. He is the author of more than 45 publications listed in the JCR, has participated in more than 9 national projects and is the coauthor of 5 R packages: deaR, wavScalogram, afmToolkit, nlstac, SdeaR. He has supervised 3 doctoral theses, 9 master's theses and numerous bachelor's theses. He has also carried out numerous academic management activities, such as serving as Academic Secretary of the Plasencia University Centre (University of Extremadura) from 2008 to 2012 and, since 2024, he has been appointed as Head of the Department of Mathematics for Economics and Business at the University of Valencia.
