Biography

Julio Revert Vercher is a predoctoral researcher in the Department of Chemical Engineering (DIQ) at the University of Valencia (UV). He holds a degree in Environmental Sciences from the University of Valencia and a Master's in Environmental Engineering (Extraordinary Award). He is currently developing his doctoral thesis in Chemical, Environmental, and Process Engineering with funding from the Generalitat Valenciana (ACIF).

RESEARCH/ His research has focused on the recovery of wastewater resources in laboratory and pilot plants, specifically on (i) the material and energy valorization of sludge from Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTP) through hydrothermal carbonization and anaerobic digestion processes, and (ii) the study of membrane technologies for wastewater reclamation and its subsequent reuse in agriculture. He has participated in 2 research projects (1 national and 1 international) and he has presented his work at various national and international conferences. His research has been primarily conducted within the CALAGUA-UV research group, affiliated with the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Valencia.

TRAINING AND ASSESSMENT/ He has taught theoretical and practical classes in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Valencia, contributing to the education of undergraduate students in environmental technologies and chemical processes. He has also represented students in the Department Council of Chemical Engineering at the University of Valencia, participating in academic decision-making and improving communication between faculty and students.

OTHER RELEVANT ACTIONS/ He is part of research networks in environmental technologies and the water sector, such as the Young Water Professionals Spain, within the International Water Association (IWA). He has also collaborated in scientific dissemination and sustainability initiatives, as well as in the search for innovative solutions for wastewater management and environmental protection.
