Resumen de la trayectoria científica. PhD. in Art History and professor of Art History at the University of Valencia, where he teaches History of Art to graduates and postgraduates since 1988. The evaluation of the teaching activity for the period from 2018 - 2023 (Docentia), has been rated with a Basic quality level and an Advanced level rated Excellent. He has gained recognition for four periods of six years for research by National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation of Spain; is the Principal Investigator of the VALuART Reference Group of the University of Valencia composed of 14 researchers since 2015. He has participated in 16 research projects, in 12 of which he has been IP. He has been a research member of the project Las artistas en España, 1804-1939 HAR2017-84399-P funded by MINECO 2018-2020, IP Concha Lomba Serrano (UZ), and currently in the projects as Las artistas en la escena cultural española y su relación con Europa, 1803-1945 PID2020-117133GB-I00 funded by MNECO 2021-2024, IP Concha Lomba Serrano (UZ) and the project Arte, Historiografía y Feminismos CIGE2022/130 funded by Generalitat Valenciana 2023-2024, IP Mariángeles Pérez-Martín (UV). He has supervised and directed 18 doctoral theses and is currently supervising 8 doctoral theses. He is the author of more than twenty books on contemporary female art, Carmen Calvo, Joaquín Sorolla, Francisco de Goya, Asensio Juliá, Joaquín Agrasot, private collecting in Valencia, the collection of the Ateneo Mercantil de Valencia, public sculpture in Valencia, the Textile Museum of Ontinyent, the artistic heritage of the Valencian hinterland, the artistic funds of the Diputación de Valencia. In addition, he is the author of more than fifty articles published in national and international indexed journals (in Spanish, English, French, Portuguese and Dutch). He has attended and participated in 18 national and international congresses. In relation to knowledge transfer, he has curated ten temporary exhibitions in different public museums and private institutions 'Gigante por la propia naturaleza' (2011), 'Memoria de la modernidad. La colección patrimonial de la Diputación de Valencia' (2017), 'Joaquín Agrasot, un pintor internacional' (2021), 'Hacia poéticas de género. Mujeres Artistas en España 1804-1939' (2022) or 'Sorolla en Roma. El artista y la pensión de la Diputación de Valencia (1884-1889)' (2023). And, as Vice-Rector of Culture at the University of Valencia (2002-2010), he has directed more than 150 exhibitions. As far as gender studies are concerned, especially with female artistic creation in the 19th and 20th centuries, we started to build a theoretical framework since 2013 with the research project 'Me veo luego existo. Mujeres que representan, mujeres representadas' (2014), which was followed by the aforementioned projects. These projects have generated numerous publications, participation in congresses, courses, conferences and the realization of exhibitions such as 'Hacia poéticas de género. Mujeres Artistas en España 1804-1939' (2022) or 'Arte, dolor y compromiso. Las mujeres en la colección Martínez Guerricabeitia' (2023). He has made several research stays in London (Tate Gallery, British Library and Courtauld Art Institute); in Oxford (Department of History of Art of the University of Oxford), New York (The Hispanic Society of America), Rome (Academia de Españ en Roma); Paris (Bibliothèque Nationale de France); Charlottesville (University of Virginia); and Rio de Janeiro (UniverCidade and Instituto Cervantes). In the framework of the European Research Area he has been representative (1998-2010) of the Universitat de València in the European program CLIOHnet Creating Links and Innovative Overviews to Enhance Historical Perspective in European Culture. And since 2010 he has been a Member of the European Commission of Experts for the evaluation of European cultural programs (Culture Programme 2007-2013) of the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency in Brussels, having been renewed in 2013 in the framework of the management of European Union programs (2014-2020). Among the positions he has held, it is worth mentioning that of Dean of the Faculty of Geography and History of the University of Valencia (1996-2002); Director of the Summer University of Gandia (2002); and Vice-Rector of Culture of the University of Valencia (2002-2010). Since 2017, he has been an evaluator for the program of Verification and Modification of university degrees of the Madrid universities of Fundación Madri+d for ANECA and, since 2020, evaluator for the renewal of the accreditation of official Bachelor's and Master's degrees of the Madrid universities of Fundación Madri+d..
