Ricardo Hernández Pérez, graduate (1991) and doctor (1998) in Classical Philology from the Universitat de València, has been Professor of Latin Philology at this university since 2002. His research has focused on epigraphic Latin texts, especially those of epigraphic poetry (carmina Latina epigraphica). Since 1998, he has been part of an interuniversity project whose objective has been the edition and commentary of the carmina Latina epigraphica of Roman Hispania for volume XVIII/2 of the Corpus inscriptionum Latinarum (CIL). He has also translated the logic treatises of Juan Luis Vives and has paid attention to certain aspects of the literary sources of ancient Spain. Since 2005, he has also been a member of the Grupo de innovación de recursos en Historia Antigua (GIRHA) of the Universitat de València. He is currently carrying out, within a research project (Fontes Valentiae historici) financed by the Generalitat Valenciana, the compilation, edition, translation and digitization of the corpus of Latin sources of Antiquity related to the Valencian lands.
