Biography

Juan Manuel Ribes Lorenzo is currently a graduate student and is studying the fourth year of the Doctorate Program (PhD) in Advanced Hispanic Studies at the University of Valencia. Under the direction of María Teresa Echenique Elizondo is preparing a Doctoral Thesis focused on the historical study of diacritical words and phraseological units entitled: Tipología y diacronía de las palabras diacríticas en la historia de la lengua española. He combines his doctoral studies with a job at the Notary of Juan Bover Belenguer in the city of Valencia and also he is an associate professor of Spanish language at the University of Valencia from November 2016 until today.

He has a degree in Hispanic Philology from the same university since completing his studies in January 2012 and from 2010 he had the opportunity to start his research career with his current director of Doctoral Thesis. During his studies, he started an aproach to academic and scientific research in the personal archives of Rafael Lapesa Melgar, under the custody of the Valencian Library of San Miguel de los Reyes. Finally, his lines of research are mainly focused on the historical phraseology and the lexical field in it.
