Biography

I have a degree in Audiovisual Communication from the University of Valencia, for which I received the Faculty's Extraordinary Award in 1999. Since that same year, I have been working in the Audiovisual Workshop at this institution, where I currently coordinate the teaching laboratories and perform editing, design and sound post-production tasks for audiovisual and multimedia projects.

In the academic field, I have taught as an associate professor in the Fine Arts Degree programme at the Polytechnic University of Valencia, in the Audiovisual Communication Degree programme and the Multimedia Engineering Degree programme at the University of Valencia, as well as in various master's and postgraduate programmes at the latter academic institution. In addition, I regularly participate in courses, seminars and masterclasses related to the world of sound for film and music production.

As a researcher, my interest in issues related to sound culture in general, and the aesthetics of film sound in particular, has resulted in several publications and the creation of the blog soundsthetics.

In the field of music informatics, I am co-author of the book “Crear, editar y compartir música digital” (Creating, editing and sharing digital music), a practical guide published by Anaya Multimedia, of which two editions have appeared. In addition, I was a founding member, programmer, web manager and graphic interface designer for Elogoxa, a community for the development of audio processing modules whose work has been published in various international magazines, such as Keys (Germany), Interface (Netherlands), Sound on Sound and Computer Music (United Kingdom), DTM Magazine (Japan), and Future Music and Computer Music (Spain).

Finally, as a freelance musician, I have composed and produced music for more than thirty audiovisual projects of different genres, such as documentaries, corporate and institutional videos, video games, short films, and television commercials.
