Biography

Sara Prades Plaza holds a PhD in Contemporary History after having defended a thesis in 2012 on the political uses of History made by National Catholicism in the first decades of the Franco regime, directed by Ismael Saz.
She was a fellow of Introduction to Research at the CSIC, under the direction of José Ramón Urquijo, and of University Teacher Training at the Department of Contemporary History of the UV. Subsequently, she was an Associate Professor at the Jaume I University of Castelló, where she directed several educational innovation projects. At the same time, she was Professor of Secondary Education in Geography and History at the Conselleria of Education, where she worked as Training Advisor for the Humanistic Field of CEFIRE. In the field of management, she was Territorial Director of Castelló of the Conselleria of Universities and Science.
She has carried out research stays at the LSE (United Kingdom), under the supervision of Paul Preston, and at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (France), supervised by Jordi Canal. In Spain, she has carried out research stays at the University of Navarra, under the direction of Álvaro Ferrary.
She has worked on oral sources and heritage as a didactic resource, as well as on the training of History teachers. Currently, she is dedicated to the study of the political uses of History and the construction of Spanish national identity in the twentieth century.
