Biography

Sergi Solera Monforte is a PhD Student at the Department of Computer Science of the University of València (UV), Spain. He holds a degree in Computer Science (Extraord. Award) M.Sc. degrees in Web Technologies and Development (Extraord. Award) and a second M.Sc. in Artificial Intelligence. He is doing a PhD in Artificial Intelligence, currently advancing research in artificial intelligence with an emphasis on intelligent tutoring systems and conversational systems.

RESEARCH/ His work has been devoted towards (i) the Design and Implementation of Intelligent Tutoring Systems aimed on conversational aspects with students, and (ii) natural language processing and agent-based systems to naturally interact with students. His work has been placed at the HiPIS (High Performance and Intelligent Systems) (UV, Spain). His most recent work has explored the adaptation and implementation of ITSs for collaborative learning, while also co-developed the "Be My Mate" framework, which introduces virtual peer agents that simulate student interactions.

METRICS/ He shows 2 publications in JCR and 3 in international and Europeans conferences, 5 citations and h-index of 2. He has participated in 2 research projects (1 national and 1 international project).

OTHER RELEVANT ACTIONS AND ACADEMIC MERITS / He has also participated in two research collaboration programs at the University of Valencia within the Intelligent Data Analysis Laboratory (IDAL). Additionally, he received the Rotary Club Valencia Award for Best Bachelor's Thesis and the Second Innocampus Award for Interdisciplinarity in his Bachelor's Thesis. Moreover, he has been honored with various awards for Best Academic Record at both the Bachelor's and Master's levels, Best Academic Record as recognized by the Regional Valencian Goverment, the Best Bachelor's Thesis Award, and the Second Innocampus Award for Interdisciplinarity in his Bachelor's Thesis—accumulating a total of 22 Honor Rolls in subjects from his Computer Engineering degree and Master in Web Technologies at UV.
