Biography

Alicia Tamarit is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Social Psychology, University of Valencia. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, a Master's degree in General Health Psychology, and a Master's degree in Clinical Sexology and Couples Therapy. Her doctoral thesis, entitled "Psychosocial adjustment in queer women and non-binary people: Intersections between gender and sexual orientation," was conducted and defended at the University of Valencia.

In line with her thesis project, her research focuses sexual and gender diversity, particularly the mental health of minoritised groups within the LGBTQ+ community from an intersectional perspective. Currently, she investigates psychosocial risks within this community, combining her research with activism in science as a member of PRISMA (Association for Affective-Sexual and Gender Diversity in Science, Technology, and Innovation). She organizes the annual LBT (Lesbian, Bisexual, Trans, and Non-binary Researchers) conference and the annual PRISMA conference.

Throughout her scientific career, she has authored over 20 scientific articles and presented at more than 50 conferences. Additionally, she has contributed to the development of educational materials, published book chapters, conducted courses, taught undergraduate courses, and supervised Bachelor's and Master's theses. In addition to collaborations with Spanish universities, her international profile includes partnerships with Goldsmiths, University of London, and King's College London.
