Vicent Pérez-Calabuig is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the Universitat de València. He obtained his PhD in 2018 from the Universitat de València and the Universitat Politècnica de València. He has participated in several publicly funded research projects and his research is mainly focused on group theory, with applications to other algebraic structures such as semigroups, and more recently to the theory of skew braces and their connection with solutions of the Yang-Baxter equation. His main contributions include the structural study of groups, the analysis of profinite topologies related to the structure of semigroups, and the investigation of algebraic properties of skew braces aimed at characterising the classification of solutions of the Yang-Baxter equation. He is currently teaching undergraduate courses in the degree of Mathematics and other Science degrees in the areas of Algebra and Applied Mathematics.
