I hold a degree in Psychology (1990) and a PhD in Psychology (1994) from the University of Valencia. I have been a professor in the Department of Developmental and Educational Psychology at the University of Valencia since 1999. Since 2014, I have served as director of the official Master's Degree in Psychogerontology at the University of Valencia and its interuniversity coordinator (together with the universities of Santiago, Barcelona, and Salamanca).
My areas of interest and specialization focus on various aspects of human development throughout the life cycle. On the one hand, psychosocial development in adolescence and emerging adulthood, particularly the development of identity in the transition to adulthood. On the other hand, I focus on personal development in adulthood and aging, with a special focus on the tasks of generativity and integrity (conceptualization, assessment, and intervention). I have also participated as a member of the "Transicions" research group at the University of Valencia and the "Gerontology" group at the University of Barcelona in several projects on groups with difficulties throughout life: young people who have failed at school, adults participating in integration companies, and older adults in vulnerable situations.
