
The UV Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry turns from 13 to 26 May into the stage for the ‘Less is more’ exhibition, which is already open for the public. On 18 May at 12 p.m. the official presentation ceremony will be held, featuring renowned responsible representatives from both institutions to highlight the importance of educational and social cooperation for health promotion.
The institutional event, starting at 12 p.m. at the Faculty of Medicine, will feature Antonio Llombart, Vice-President of the Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer en Valencia (Spanish Association Against Cancer in Valencia); José María Martín Moreno, member of the Council; and Natalia Ruiz coordinator of the Health Prevention and Promotion area of the association.
Among the representatives of the Universitat de València, Guillermo Sáenz, responsible for Culture at the Faculty; Carolina Ortega Azorín, Director of the Departmental Section of Preventive Medicine; and renowned researchers such as Julio Madrigal Matute and Maria Llena Meler, the latter receiving a grant from the Association itself, will also participate, thus reinforcing the link between social prevention and scientific research of excellence.
After the official welcoming, the attendees will do a guided tour throughout the exhibition to learn first-hand the interactive resources of which it is comprised.
About the exhibition
The aim of ‘Less is more’ is to transform the perception on cancer prevention. Through interactive elements, the exhibition fosters considering how to reduce risk factors and promote habits that improve our life quality. During the tour, the attendees will be able to confirm how the exhibition transfers complex scientific concepts to a visual and direct language, making it easy for the health message to reach effectively the future sanitary relay.
The exhibition will remain opened until Tuesday, 26 May. With this action, the the Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer (Spanish Association Against Cancer), and the Universitat de València set a common front to promote cancer prevention on a strategic environment, bringing scientific research and grassroots social awareness together.
