The Burjassot-Paterna Campus holds, for the second consecutive year, the Mostra art públic / universitat pública, which will take place from the 2nd to the 27th October. Alba Braza is the curator of this initiative, which celebrates its 20 annual. The works of Anaisa Franco, Cristian Gil Gil, Ernesto Casero, Laura Palau, Ainhoa Salas and Guillermo Lechón will be exposed. The Mostra is organised by the Information and Promotion Service (Sedi) in cooperation with the Office of the Vice-Principal for Culture and Equality.

The aim of the exhibition Art públic/ universitat pública of the Universitat de València is to change the Burjassot-Paterna Campus into a space for artistic creation. This activity, born in the academic year 1997-1998 includes this year one novelty: to promote the reflection about the coupling art and science. The exhibition shows five works chosen in a call for several visual artists without an age limit, who are interested in creating a work site specific. 54 proposals were offered as a result of that.

The projects express the possibilities of the relationship between art creation and science and they are located in several spaces of the campus. Frustración, of Anaisa Franco is located in the School of Engineering; Ernesto Casero’s work, named For the Birds, is located in the front wall of the Natural Sciences Museum; Laura Palau’s Cámara oscura is in the adjacent area of the campus cafe; the work Cau de coneixement of Cristian Gil Gil is in the side garden of the Sciences Library; and Ainhoa Sala and Guillermo Lechón expose their work Flexivídeo in the Faculty of Physics.

The Information and Promotion Service (Sedi) in cooperation with the Office of the Vice-Principal for Culture and Equality have fostered and managed this public art proposal which represents a good chance to bring science closer to the artistic reflection. It implies a closeness from conceptualism of the contemporary art to the scientific methodology.
