The UV sports hall will take in this deserved award on 2 November. On it, it will be acknowledged the excellence of the students with best sports results and it will be presented to the 46 teams that will represent the UV in the university championships 2022/2023.
The UV celebrates another year the successes of its athlete’s team in the traditional Sports Gala, that this year reach its tenth edition. The ceremony will start at 18:00h, conducted by the principal of the Universitat de València, Maria Vicenta Mestre. The director-General for Sports of the GVA, Josep Miquel Moya, and the director of the Sports Service of the UV, Ana Mª Gómez, will also participate.
The aim of this act is to honour all the victories of the UV athletes in the different competitions of the season and to introduce the university teams of the current season. “The outcome of the sport results of the last year is really positive”, explain the director of UVsports, Ana Mª Gómez. “To the medals that were won in the Autonomous (CADU) and in the Spanish University Championships (CEU), it is needed to sum up the excellent results in the Lodz European University Games (Poland), that provided a magnificent finale to a perfect season for our Universitat, since it ends the academic course with 260 medals”, defends the director.
Apart from appreciating the victories of the athletes, this ceremony of free entrance for everyone, will also be useful for presenting the 46 teams that will represent the Universitat de València in the university championships for this season. In addition, during the event it will be launched Canvi de Joc, a new audio-visual program of sports spreading organised jointly by Uvsports and Uvcomunication, “with a dynamic and fresh style, this format is born with the aim to visualise and support the university sport”, says the director of the Sports Service.
The UV Sports Gala will be broadcast through the link: http://www.uv.es/eventosuv and will have a special program beforehand that will start at 5:40 p.m.
Different authorities will be present at The Sports Gala of the UV. It is planned the attendance of Mª Vicenta Mestre, principal of the Universitat de València; Josep Miquel Moya, director-General for Sports of the GVA; Javier Mateo, city councillor of Sports of the Valencia Town Hall; Andrés Campos Casado, delegate deputy of Sports of the Valencia Council; Borja Santamaria, manager of the Sports Municipal Foundation of the Town City Hall of Valencia; Hermenegildo Puchades, chief of the Sports Promotion Service of the Directorate General for Sports of the GVA; deans of the faculties of the Universitat de València; and Ana Mª Gómez, director of the Sports Service of the UV.
