Portuguese Film Series to mark World Portuguese Language Day.
To mark World Portuguese Language Day, a short Portuguese film series will be organised, featuring the screening of two contemporary works.
On 13 May, the documentary 48, by Susana de Sousa Dias, will be screened. The film focuses on the memory of the Portuguese dictatorship through archive images and testimonies from former political prisoners. On 15 May, there will be a screening of A Bela América, by António Ferreira, a f ilm that combines drama and critical humour to address issues such as populism, social inequality and the role of the media.
Both screenings will have Spanish subtitles and aim to bring Portuguese culture closer to the university community through cinema.
