
The 3rd Sessions of Museums and Permanent Museum Exhibitions of the Valencian Community “A Museu Obert” will take place on the 28th and 29th September. They will analyse the role of museums and its importance as social invigorators. The meetings have been organised by the Territorial Direction of Valencia and the General Direction of Culture and Heritage, in collaboration of the Office of the Vice-principal for Territorial Projection and Society of the Universitat de València.
The 3rd Sessions of Museums and Permanent Museum Exhibitions of the Valencian Community A Museu Obert will take place in Chelva and Aras de los Olmos on the 28th and 29th of September. The sessions will be a space for meeting, formation and reflection on the role that museums have or might have as interpreters of the territory where they are located and as invigorators of the human communities.
The conferences, panels of discussion and workshops that were programmed will be imparted in emblematic locations of the towns. On the one hand, the locations chosen in Aras de los Olmos have been the panning-site, the Big Fountain, the medieval oven, the walled orchards, the chapel of Santo Cristo and the Ecomuseum. On the other hand, the locations chosen in Chelva are the Palace of the Viscount, the archaeological site La Torrecilla, the mosque, the library and the Archaeological Museum. Some UV professors of disciplines related to the territory, the cultural heritage and museography are among the speakers and presenters.
In addition, there will be several playful programmed activities such as a craft beer tasting in La Yesa, star gazing in Aras and a concert of old Valencian music in the Palace of the Viscount in Chelva.
The sessions are organised by the Territorial Direction of Valencia and the General Direction of Culture and Heritage. They are co-organised by the Valencian Provincial Council and Universitat de València through the Office of the Vice-principal for Territorial Projection and Society.
