The University of Valencia's teams ended their day on a high note at the Autonomic University Sports Championship (CADU), with overwhelming victories in many team categories and a performance worthy of praise from the rugby teams, both from the men’s and the women’s.

In men’s football, the UV beat the University Cardenal Herrera (UCH) with ease 4-1, while the women’s futsal team earned another victory and without home advantage. In men’s basketball, the university team wiped the floor with the Catholic University of Valencia (UCV) with a scoreboard of 113-57. The men’s volleyball team ended their day with a solid victory of 3-0.

As for men’s futsal, the UV team was tied 2-2 during the regulation time, but ended up losing in the penalty shoot-out and was eliminated after a very close match.

The rugby teams gave some of the best performances of the competition. The men pulled off two overwhelming victories against the University Miguel Hernández of Elx (UMH) with a 0-71 result, and the University of Alicante with a score of 0-39, even though they did lose their match against the Technical University of Valencia (UPV) by 19-12. The women’s rugby team, on the other hand, ended their day with three consecutive victories against the University Jaume I of Castello (UJI) (41-0), the UA (30-0) and the UCH (41-0), with no points at all scored by the opposing teams.

Now the University’s sight is set on the next CADU events

With these results, the competition enters its final phase. The CADU semi-finals of different sports will take place on 19 February, with the UV being present in different key encounters, both in men’s and women’s categories.
The teams will be competing for a spot in the autonomic finals, which will be celebrated on 4 March, aiming to keep expanding the UV’s presence and sport achievements at the top level of autonomic university sports.
