
Los Campeonatos Autonómicos Universitarios (CADU) (The Regional University Championships) has come to an end with the last competitions in track and field and squash, that confirmed the high level of sport in the Valencian university community.
Moncada once again became the epicenter of popular athletics on April 19, when the 34th edition of its Half Maraton was held. It is one of the of the most established events in the province. Close to 800 runners joined the event with a big athletic atmosphere, organized by Club Atletismo Sprint de Moncada and City Hall.
Once again, the race stood out for its scenic route and for combining sections through the city center, residential neighborhoods, and green spaces, making it a highly valued experience for participants. Even though it was a warmer day than usual, the festive spirit and very animated audience contributed to the success of the event.
In addition, the competitions hosted by the Campeonato Autonómico Universitario, bringing together student athletes from all universities in the Valencian Community, significantly raising the competitive level. The team of the Universitat de València achieved excellent results, particularly in the 10K race, with the following standings:
- Carla Breco: 1st in general classification and 1st in university category
- Inés Marín: 2nd in general classification and 2nd in university category
- Salvador Costa: 3rd in general classification and 1st in university category
- Iván Hinojo: 5th in general classification and 2nd in university category
- Irene Romero: 3rd in university category
The UV managed to be the fastest team in 10k run and third place in the university team standings in both the 10K race and the half marathon.
Squash results
Meanwhile, the CADU squash tournament was held on April 22 on the courts of Pabellón of the University of Alicante and the organization of the Universidad Europea de Valencia.
The representative team of the Universitat de València also won the silver medal, with Alba Ferrando finishing second and Kike Moreno third. These results bring the CADU to an end , confirming the Universitat de València’s strong athletic performance across various disciplines.
