The 14th Public Communication of Science and Technology (PCST) Conference: The Global Conference on Science Communication was held on 26, 27 and 28 April in Istanbul, Turkey. The event was organized by the International Network on Public Communication of Science and Technology (PCST).
This network includes scientific journalists, museum staff and science centers, academic researchers, scientific communicators, publicists, educators, broadcasters and people interested in these issues. Therefore, as can be deduced, it is a multidisciplinary network with the objective of addressing the public communication of science and technology.
Carolina Moreno and Emilia Lopera contributed in the congress with the presentation of two communications produced in the frame of project ESTENAS. One communication presented the preliminary results of a comparative study of frequency of use of complementary and alternative medicines (CAM) in relation to the frequency of digital press publications on them. The second one presented the conclusions of an exploratory research on the sources of online information and the perceptions on CAMs of the Spanish digital natives population.
This congress is the most important in the field of scientific communication, with a trajectory of over 30 years. This time it has been held with the support of Hacettepe University (Turkey). Undoubtedly, the program was, as on other occasions, full of leading experts.
Next edition of PSCT will be held on 2018 in New Zealand.
