Sports event with special education centre's students

Divina Pastora Chair for Adapted Sport of the Universitat de València collaborates with Secció Territorial d’Esports of the Conselleria d’Educació, Investigació, Cultura i Esports of the Generalitat Valenciana (Territorial Office of the Department of Education, Research, Culture and Sports of the Valencian Government) organising an sports and leisure event for special education centre’s students in the context of Jocs Esportius (Sports Games) of the Generalitat Valenciana, Jocs Esportius Adaptats (Adapted sports games), with the name of “Jornada Esportiva UV” (Sports day UV).

The event will be on November 7th morning, at sports installations of Blasco Ibáñez Campus of UV, with the collaboration of Physical Education and Sports Service.

The event is aimed to promote the physical activity among young people with mental disability; to make easier the relation between all the actors that get involved in the mental disability in a relaxed environment making easier the exchange of ideas and concern; to recognise and highlight the importance of the work developed by professionals related to mental disability; and to finish the training of Physical Activity and Sports Sciences of UV students who have the opportunity to put into practice the acquired knowledge during the academic training.

Students from the below special education centres will take part in: CEE Enric Valor de Gandía, CPCEE Carmen Picó de Alzira, CEE Virgen de la esperanza de Cheste, CEE San Cristofol de Sagunt, CEE Torrepinos de Torrent, CEE Miguel Burguera de Sueca, CEE Rosa Llácer de Valencia, CEE Prof. Sebastián Burgos de Valencia, CEE Koynos de Godella, and CEE Ruiz Jimenez de Valencia.

The Divina Pastora Chair for Adapted Sport of the Universitat de València has the aim of promoting the study, research, healthy lifestyle and the discuss about adapted sport, as well as the transfer of knowledge to companies and civil society. They also encourage the regulate studies (master or different), the organisation of seminar, courses, conferences and the grant’s call, awards and contests, all of them related to adapted sport.
