Twelve artistic projects selected for the 27th Mostra art públic / universitat pública
The jury for the 27th edition of the Mostra art públic / universitat pública selected the projects that will receive 2,000 euros each to transform the Burjassot and Blasco Ibáñez campuses into a place of an artistic intervention open to society. The selected projects are submitted by: Marco Ranieri, María García Sánchez, Noé Bermejo, Teresa Marín García, Fernando Martínez, Amaya Suberviola, Vicente Aguado, Edu Comelles, FORAT (Marta Negre and Andreu Signes), Álvaro Porras Soriano, Rafael Tormo Cuenca, and Alba Mayol.

The twelve projects were selected among the 79 submitted this year, and explore current topics such as the invasion of Palestine, historical memory in the Valencian context, ecology and mental health. The proposals combine participatory practices and the study of the collections of the Universitat de València with techniques based on the experimental production of images in non-traditional media of artistic practice.

The jury for the 27thedition of the Mostra art públic / universitat pública is comprised of Vice-Principal for Culture and Society of the UVEster Alba, Delegate of the Principal for the Student Body of the UVMarcos Durà, Head of Huarte Contemporary Art Centre and expert in cultural managementOskia Ugarte, Professor of the Painting Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Head of the Art and Environment Research Centre (both from the UPV), and curator and visual artistPaula Santiago, and technical staff of the SeDi Information and Promotion Service for Students and the Office of the Vice-Principal for Culture and Society of the UV.
Art públic / university public university at the Burjassot and Blasco Ibáñez campuses
Each of the selected artists will receive €2,000 for the production and installation of their work that will be exhibited at the 27thMostra art públic / universitat pública, which will take place from 4 to 30 October at the Burjassot Campus and from 6 November to 4 December at the Blasco Ibáñez Campus.
The Mostra art públic / universitat pública is an initiative promoted by the Student Council of the UV and organised by theSeDi Information and Promotion Service for Studentswith the collaboration of the Office of the Vice-Principal for Culture and Society. The exhibition aims to revitalise the campuses of Burjassot and Blasco Ibáñez and transform them into spaces of artistic intervention open to society. To achieve this, the organisation selects ephemeral artistic projects that reflect on contemporary art’s approach to science and social and human sciences, transforming them into detonators of other cross-disciplinary knowledge and interacting with the university space.
