The Universitat de València publishes the admission results for its degree programmes this Friday. Once they are available, students who have not been admitted to their first choice-programme will be assigned a position on the waiting list. The admission is automatic, but to reimain on the list, it is necessary that students confirm their interest between today, 10 July (from the publication of the GVA results) and next Wednesday 15 July at 2:00pm.
Students admitted in their second or subsequent choice must complete the registration process in the assigned deadlines to secure their place. Otherwise, they will be deemed to have declined the place. In addition, waiting lists also allow applicants who were not selected initially in their first choice to be considered for places that become available later.
Confirming continuity on the waiting lists is a common requirement for the five Valencian public universities. Since last year, all calls for the lists have been managed centrally in the Generalitat Valenciana (GVA). This measure aims to accelerate and unify the process, besides avoiding duplicity and improving transparency.
Mandatory confirmation of permanence
Students who wish to continue on the waiting lists must confirm their interest once during the corresponding period through the GVA university pre-registration website. If the confirmation is not carried out, the system will remove the applicant automatically, and will no longer be eligible for admission to their chosen degree programmes.
Moreover, students who have confirmed their continuity on the waiting lists may also withdraw from any degree programme they no longer wish to be considered for through the same website of the pre-registration.
Place allocation and enrolment
Once students have confirmed their continued interest, several calls of place allocation will be made on 17, 23 and 29 July, 3, 10, 17 September and 1 October. After each allocation, the results can be consulted on the pre-registration platform and an enrolment period will be opened.
If a place from the waiting list is obtained and one is already enrolled in another programme, a student can cancel the previous enrolment before completing a new one. This process may be repeated as many times as the student is offered a place in a higher-preference programme.
Management after the final allocation
After the final collective allocation, on 1 October, the vacant places will be managed directly by each university, which will contact students in the corresponding order.
Appeals regarding pre-registration results
In the case that an appeal regarding the pre-registration results has been submitted and upheld, two situations may arise: the student may be placed on the waiting list or admitted to a degree programme.
Students placed on the waiting list will be confirmed by default, and they can withdraw if they wish. Students who do not withdraw will remain eligible for next allocations following the publication of the resolution.
In the case of being admitted to a degree programme, students must contact their faculty to complete the enrolment process.
