The University achieves their best position in the last decade in the QS World University Rankings
The Universitat de València has achieved in the 2026 edition of the World University Rankings their best result in the last ten years, taking the 430th world level, the 180-182 in Europe, the 12th in Spain and the 2nd in the Valencian Community, according to the data published this week, June 2025 by the international consultant Quacquarelli Symonds (QS).

The QS ranking, which analyses the activity of 5663 universities and publishes the results of 1501, evaluates the institutions with indicators such as opinions from the recruiting companies and the capacity of attraction of the teacher staff and international students, citations per professor and professor-student ratio. In the edition of this year, the Universitat de València has improved in most of their indicators respectively to last year consolidating this way the positive tendency of the last three years.
Improvements in all of the key indicators
The global punctuation of the Universitat de València has ascended to 35,7 points, in front of the 26,7 from the last edition. In the general classification, the Universitat has improved in all key indicators. They specially stand out in advances of academic reputation (49,7 points), international research network (91,4 points), international students ratio (39,4 points), citations per professor (31), and job results (16,5) points. In the only one which it has slightly decreased (reaching 74,1 points) is in sustainability, though it continues being one of the highest of the university.
These results reflect the effort of the Universitat de València in reinforcing their international projection, better quality of their research and increase the employability of their graduates.
QS Methodology
The QS World University Rankings is published annually from 2004 and they use bibliometric data from the Scopus database by Elsevier. They analyse 51 disciplines and five wide areas of knowledge, evaluating their academic reputation and employability, the impact of the scientific publications and the H index of research quality. In the 2024 edition three new indicators were incorporated: job results, international network of research and sustainability, reinforcing this way the integral vision of the university excellence.
