The Universitat de València hosted the championship and would like to congratulate all the participating teams for their high level of competition.
Last weekend, the Spanish Regional Wheelchair Rugby Championship took place at the Universitat de València Sports Centre. This year’s edition saw the participation of 5 autonomous communities: Catalonia, Madrid, Andalusia, Aragon and the Valencian Community, which hosted the event. The competition modality was round-robin, and it took place during 10 matches between 1 Saturday and 2 Sunday.
Most of the Valencian team members came from UPV Lobos, and they made a strong start, beating the Andalusian in the first match. Nevertheless, they were unable to win any of the other matches. Despite not achieving the results they had hoped for, the team enjoyed the competition and ended the season satisfied with their work and eager to continue training and improving under coach Rodrigo Bonandi.

The Catalan team won the competition, which was the audience’s favourite, and the Community of Madrid team came second after losing to Catalonia. On the other hand, Aragón won 3rd place, and the Valencian Community team and the Andalusian team came 4th and 5th respectively.
Fans were able to enjoy the event at the UV Sports Centre free of charge on both days of the competition.
The website of Tu Puedes TV – the official television of the Spanish Federation of Disability Sports (FEDDF) – also livestreamed the matches for those who could not attend the event. You can watch the matches again by clicking on the links below:
