The Universitat de València (UV) and the Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH) offered a great performance in the second day of the Autonomic Championship of University Sport in the Comunitat Valenciana (CADU) in team sports. The UV won in 15 of the 16 games that were organised.
The Universitat de València closed the 2nd CADU day, held on Tuesday 29 November, with good sensations. The UV teams, both female and male, battled hard and ended winning 15 games.
The women’s football team won 0-9 in El Clot field of the Miguel Hernández University (UMH) of Elche. The male’s football team also achieved the victory (1-9).
TheUMH Palacio de los Deportes, in Elche, held the indoor football and basketball games. The indoor football boys prevailed 0-11 over the UMH. However, the women’s team was not able to win and ended the game with a result of 6-0. In basketball, the UV achieved victories not only in the female team (35-59), but also in the male’s team (57-104).
Volleyball meetings took place in the Sala Sur of the Aulario de Menéndez y Pelayo. Both, the female and the male’s team of the UV won with the same result, an overwhelming 3-0.
The handball male’s team prevailed over the UMH 31-23. The handball girls of the Universitat de València also won, and they did it with a great goals difference, 51-15. The games were organised in the UV Sports Pavilion.
The UV rugby teams won all matches in the field of the Río facilities, which are part of the Jardín del Turia. The girls won both matches organised (UV 50 - UMH 5 and UMH 0 - UV 40). The male’s team also managed to triumph easily in both matches (UV 41- UMH 0 and UMH 10 - UV 29).
Finally, paddle and tennis tournaments also ended with victories for both UV teams that played at home, in the courts of the Blasco Ibáñez Campus. When it comes to tennis, the UV obtained a victory of 2-1. And the UV paddle teams won all matches, with a global result of 3-0.
On 15 December, 3rd day of the CADU league
The next appointment of the CADU league will be on Thursday 15 December and will confront the teams of the Universitat de València with the ones of the University of Alacant. The CASU schedule will continue on February 9, date in which the UV will be faced with the UJI of Castellon; and on February 21, the UV will compete against the Universitat Politècnica de València. Finally, on March 8 will take place the grand final of the Autonomic Championship of University Sport in the Comunitat Valenciana in the team sports modality.
