The Psychology Clinic of the Universitat de València has expanded its free Psychological Care Programme to the staff of the academic institution - PDI, PTGAS and PI - for pathologies derived from work activity. The support requests will be organised through the UV medical cabinets of occupational health, the Service of Psycho-sociology and Ergonomics of the Prevention and Environment Service, as well as through the Commission of Psyco-social Risks of the Universitat de València.

The announcement of the expansion has been made coinciding with the celebration - on 10 October –of World Mental Health Day. From now on, this free of charge service, in addition to being offered to students -which was already being offered since the end of 2023- Psychology clinic opens up to the Teaching and research staff (PDI) and to the Technical Staff, the Management and Administration and Services (PTGAS) and to the Research Staff (PI) of the Universitat de València.

This service consists of free and confidential psychological care, provided by professionals from the UV Psychology Clinic Fundació Lluís Alcanyís-UV, for pathologies derived from work activity.

The support will consist of a series of free sessions (up to a maximum of 6) which will be organised through the UV medical cabinets of occupational health, the Service of Psycho-sociology and Ergonomics of the Prevention and Environment Service, as well as through the Commission of Psyco-social Risks of the UV.

This programme, which was implemented in the last quarter of 2023, has resulted in an essential resource for the students of the Universitat de València, offering a space for psychological assistance and support specialised in emotional, personal, academic and acceptance issues. More than 3.500 sessions took place during 2024, in addition to 700 students, and the numbers remain similar in 2025.

The expansion of the free Psychological Care Programme to PDI , PTGAS and PI requires an effort regarding the consolidation of the Universitat de València as institution committed to the mental health of its whole university community.

As part of the World Mental Health Day, this initiative reinforces the message that taking care of psychological wellbeing is essential for the academic, personal and professional development of UV students and workers.
