Biography

Tenured university professor, accredited as full university professor, of Philosophy of Law, Faculty of Law, and researcher of the University Institute of Human Rights of the Universitat de València.

He is coordinator of the International Human Rights Clinic in the Law Clinic for Social Justice of the Universitat de València.

HE teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Legal Theory, Philosophy of Law, Human Rights, Legal Methodology, Basic Legal Skills, Clinical Legal Education, and Legal Ethics.

He participated in almost 40 grant- and contract-based research projects of various autonomic, national, European agencies, as well as private foundations. Currently he coordinates, in collaboration with professor María José Añón Roig, the project “Access to Justice and Protection of Rights in Times of Crisis: from Traditional Approaches to Alternative Methods."

The results of this research, focused on human rights, had been disseminated at numerous seminars, communications, conferences, and in more than 90 publications. Concretely, he carried out studies about migrants’ rights, the foundations of rights, social rights or the right to access justice. He has also made contributions on racial and ethnic discrimination, and cultural conflicts, among others.

He is a member of the Study Group on Citizenship, Immigration and Minorities, coordinated by professors Javier de Lucas and María José Añón.

He is also a member of editorial boards of several journals. Also of the Steering Committee de la European Network for Clinical Legal Education ENCLE and the Board of Directors of the Global Alliance for Justice Education GAJE.

He promoted the creation of the Network of Legal Clinics of Spanish Universities.
