Agenda UV

The Lifelong Learning Service and Educational Innovation (SFPIE) of the Universitat de València offers the university community and the general public an open online course, accessible through the international platform MiríadaX por MOOC courses. The people who participate in the course will have the chance to enjoy the access to all contents and evaluation tests for free. 

The course will begin on the 6th of May 2019, and will deal with the history of science, technology and medicine. It has a chronological organisation and it's assembled through a selection of characters, spaces and objects that allow to characterise each time period from a different perspective. This way, the course offers an introduction to new trends of historical research, as well as a way to think critically about current issues related to science, technology and medicine.

The making of the course has been coordinated by Josep R. Bertomeu, director of the López Piñero Institute for the History of Science and Medicin, with the participation of several experts in the setting of the call for the MOOC courses, open by the SFPIE. The production of the videos that form the course has been carried out by the staff of the Lifelong Learning Service and Educational Innovation (SFPIE) and the enrolments in their facilities.

The course can be found at the MiríadaX platform, which is one of the most widespread platforms of MOOC at the Hispanic American world, thanks to an agreement between the Universitat de València and the platform. This way, the MOOCs created for our university can be accesible for more people. The students who finish the course successfully will have the chance to obtain a certificate.
