6th edition of the scientific video contest Media100cia addressed to pre-university students.
From the Science Park of Universitat de València (FPCUV) we inform about the opening of the new edition of the scientific video contest Media100cia, an initiative framed in Exociència that invites the pre-university students to approach the science through audiovisual language.
The contest proposes the creation of short films up to 100 seconds in length, in video or animation format in which the science is the central axis of the story. In 2026 edition also focuses on how science contributes to the cafe of people, society and the planet, in line with the Expociència: “Cuidar con ciencia también es comunicarla” ("Taking care of science is also communicating it.").
The pieces would be able to address multiple approaches: from scientific experiments carried out in the educational environment to fictional proposals, reflections or activities related to science. The main requirement is that the content be original and produced entirely by the participating students.
This initiative is based on the idea that children and young people communicate and relate to their environment through images, especially in the today´s digital context. Media100cia seeks to channel the expressive capacity towards scientific dissemination, encouraging young people to ¨write¨ science through short and creative audiovisual formats.
