Chair for Citizen Protection - Local Police of Valencia Exhibition

Schedule: From 9 may 2017 to 22 may 2017. Monday, tuesday, wednesday, thursday and friday at 09:00 to 14:00.

The objective of the Chair for Citizen Protection - Local Police of Valencia Exhibition is to brings citizens closer to the functions and activities which are realised in order to improve life conditions of Valencia.

The alliance between the Universitat de València and the Local Police reinforces the tools belonging to each institution and it allows to be aware and assist the necessities of the city in the area of the citizen protection.

With the different panels, it is offered a sample of the activities which are realised from both the Universitat and the Local Police, it is also putting together the work criteria which are currently in process.

The exhibition, counting with eleven panels and having been realised from the Office of the Vice-Principal for Territorial Projection and Participation in collaboration with Chair for Citizen Protection - Local Police of Valencia, consists of two parts:

On the one hand, the part explaining what a Institutional Chair is and which are the labours developed from both the Chair and the several Research Institutions of the Universitat regarding the individual competences of the Local Police and, therefore, in which manner they can collaborate with the Council and the service delivery of Citizen Protection.

On the other hand, the part realising a tour through history and services provided by the Local Police of Valencia. From the beginning, where it is explained the creation of the Municipal Police Corps in 1870, to the current moment, in which we count with a Local Police with 1600 professionals to citizen’s service, having an organization and distribution of individual functions of a modern an advanced city.

Our intention is to make citizens aware of those who are working for citizens’ interests from the two institutions in a graphic and pleasant way as well as rigorous.

This sample will be completed with a series of formative days in different neighbourhoods of Valencia during the months of March, April and May 2017.
