Darwin is a play for two actors based on the text Re: Design (Dramatisation of the correspondence between Charles Darwin and Asa Gray) written by the English playwright and zoologist Craig Baxter from the correspondence that Charles Darwin kept with his friend, the North American botanist Asa Gray, from 1855 until his death in 1882. The play was ordered by the “Darwin Correspondence Project”, of the University of Cambridge (United Kingdom), with the support of the John Templeton Foundation (USA), on the occasion of the celebration of the 200 anniversary of Darwin's birth and the 150 anniversary of the publication of The Origin of Species.
