Open online registration for Erasmus in the territory - La Ribera Alta

30th March

The Universitat de València continues the programme “Erasmus in the Territory”.  The programme is organised thanks to the Office of the Vice-principal for Territorial Projection and Society, and the Office of the Vice-principal for Internationalisation and Cooperation. This 6th edition of the programme has organised several formative itineraries to several Valencian towns that stand out because of their culture and heritage.

These itineraries are organised for 2018-2019 Erasmus students of the Universitat de València. The trips are designed in collaboration with the pertinent city councils. They are characterised by their educational purpose to teach Erasmus students about the importance of the Valencian culture, heritage and landscapes.

 La Ribera Alta

La Ribera Alta is the land where the Xúquer flows, which is the largest river of the province of Valencia. The region bases its economy in agriculture, particularly oranges. Oranges have been cultivated in the area since the 18th century and Carcaixent is considered the epicentre of this tradition. In this trip, we will know the history of oranges (tradition, trade and influence in the Valencian society, economy, orchards, architecture…).

There will be another trip to “La Murta y la Casella” (2004) Natural Site in Alzira, where La Murta monastery is located (14th-15th centuries).
