The Political Studies Institute is pleased to invite you to the presentation of "El hilo rojo. Memorias de dos familias obreras" (The red thread. Memories of two working families"), a book by Mario Amorós and a documentary by Javier Couso and Mario Amorós about the Montalban Gómez and the Moya Sánches families.
Born in the postwar in the cordobese hamlet of Alcolea, their childhood was marked by hard work in the farmhouses and the repression of the Franco dictatorship against their parents and aunts and uncles. They emigrated to Valencia between the 1963 and the 1964, here they joined the clandestine struggle of the Commnunist Party and participated in the construction of "comisiones Obreras". The compromise with democracy and the regain of freedom put them through detentions, tortures and jail time. In the 70 decade and the Transition, these families had a prominent role in the struggle of the working class. One of them, Antonio Montalbán, was the first Secretary General of CCOO in the Valencian Country and member of the Central Committee of the PCE. The compromise of the Montalbán and Moya families extends to the present. In this time of dictatorship of market dictatorship and the great speculative capital, when the workers are losing the gains that demanded a century and a half of struggles, the Democratic Heritage is the "red thread" that will help us defeat neoliberalism and get out of the "laberynth".
Paco Molina, Jose Luis Colomer, Marga Sanz, Glòria Marcos and Mario Amorós will attend the presentation.
