Thinking back: images, memories and silences that are stories
Course of the 34th Edition of the Universitat d’Estiu de Gandia.
Images produce remembering processes that are characterised by their emotional mark, and this determinates singular experiences to address “encrypted memory” or elaborate the duels, which is essential in the history of the 20th century of Spain, characterised by its oblivion. Photography or cinema are the materials that embody a life moment, with the special capacity of bringing past to present. They make us face both subjective memories and collective memory.
