TROBES: 550 years of the printing press in Valencia
Face-to-face

The Historical Library opens on Thursday, April 25th, a new exhibition entitled: "TROBES: 550 years of printing in Valencia", curated by Antoni Furió, Rosa Mª Gregori Roig and Pau Viciano.

In 1474, as a result of a poetry competition, the "Obres o Trobes en lahors de la Virgen Maria" was published in Valencia. It was the first book printed in the Crown of Aragon and the first of a literary nature on the Iberian Peninsula. The only preserved copy is kept in the Biblioteca Històrica de la Universitat de València. To commemorate this 550th birthday, the Library presents the exhibition "Trobes: 550 years of printing in Valencia". The exhibition can be visited in the Duque de Calabria and Bigues rooms of the La Nau Cultural Centre. In the former, the original copy of the Trobes and a selection of incunabula from the University's collection will be on display. The Bigues room will offer the opportunity to immerse oneself in the world of printing, its invention and its dissemination throughout Europe.

The exhibition can be visited until September 8
