València and its economy: a sustainable model is possible

The Faculty of Economics hosts on Wednesday 19 December the 2nd Congress “València and its economy: a sustainable model is possible”, which is organised by the MESVAL Chair for a Sustainable Economic Model of València and its surroundings, sponsored by València City Council.

Expert Professors in several areas of Economics and Business of the Universitat de València will analyse the key topics for a sustainable economic development of the city of València. The organised sessions will address the following: economic, social and environmental sustainable economic development València; employability València’s citizens; productive and competitive model focused on València’s logistics platform; eco-entrepreneurship and economic effects of the creative industries on citizen productivity and salary. Finally, the last conference is “València Tech City“, by Javier Mateo, Innovation Deputy Director of València Activa (València City Council). It will be the finishing point of this 2nd Congress on a sustainable economic model for València and its surroundings. Lectures will soon be published in order to foster dialogue and reflection on the economic model of the kind of city we want to achieve.

The opening ceremony will be carried out at the Sánchez Ayuso Hall of the Faculty of Economics by Sandra Gómez, Deputy Mayor and General Manager of the Department for Sustainable Economic Development of València City Council, Dolores Real, Vice-principal for Innovation and Transfer of the Universitat de València, José Manuel Pastor, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and co-director of the MESVAL Chair, and Amparo Cervera, Director of the International Economics Institute and co-director of the MESVAL Chair.
