EU Career Student Ambassador programme

Those students interested in fostering the development of a career in the EU institutions at the Universitat de València can apply to become EU Career Student Ambassador.

The Universitat de València has been selected by the European Union to participate in the EU Careers Ambassadors programme addressed to students enrolled at our institution during the academic year 2017/18. In the past 6 years, the programme was represented by up to 110 Ambassadors across 28 EU countries.

This iniciative provides those students willing to foster the development of a career in the EU institutions at our university to apply to become EU Career Student Ambassadors. Through this experience they will be able to:

  • Find out more about EU Career opportunities and promote them to your fellow students
  • Build a fantastic network across Europe
  • Gain work experience during your studies
  • Develop your skills in public speaking, marketing and HR
  • Receive a full induction and coaching throughout the role
  • Give your CV extra weight with future employers

Role description

  • Acting as a point of contact for students interested in EU Careers
  • Researching target groups and contacting university media
  • Setting up mailing lists and distributing information on EU Careers through the appropriate channels
  • Giving presentations, attending university careers events and finding interesting speakers
  • Completing monthly tasks and regularly reporting back on your activities
  • Managing and regularly monitoring a dedicated Facebook page / online presence

Eligibility requirements

  • Available to take part in our compulsory training course in September 2017
  • Enrolled and present at the university for the duration of the Ambassador's post (September 2017 - September 2018)
  • An EU citizen
  • Fluent in one of the languages of the country in which you are studying

The European Personnel Selection Office responsible for selecting staff on behalf of all the European Institutions and Agencies, including the European Commission, Parliament and Council will carry out the selection of candidates. For more information:

How to apply

Those students interested in participating in the programme can make their online application form to the European Personnel Selection Office before the 24 March 2017 by filling in the following form.

The students who successfully pass the first round, you will be asked to complete an online interview in April 2017.
