The channel was established and designed to guarantee confidentiality of the identity of the person making the complaint during all stages of the investigation and resolution of the report, and its current management adheres to the same principles.

The names of the persons making complaints shall only be disclosed with their express consent or by court order.

On the other hand, in the event of discovery that the person making the complaint has acted in bad faith, deliberately reporting false facts, said person’s name will be disclosed to the person against whom the complaint was made, so that he/she/they may exercise civil and criminal actions that he/she/they deem appropriate, except in the case of anonymous complaints.

If the person making the complaint does not wish to provide his/her/their identification details, an anonymous communication may be submitted. In these cases, the person making the complaint will remain anonymous throughout the entire process.

There are two options for making an anonymous complaint:

  1. By using a normal internet browser, without filling in the personal or contact details. In this case, the trace of the IP address from which the communication is made remains and may be requested from the Universitat de València by the competent authorities.
  1. By using an encrypted network that fully guarantees the anonymity of communication in the digital environment (including the IP address, which can identify the person navigating the web). The most widely used tool is the TOR network, which is a free and open source software that can be downloaded through the following link: https://www.torproject.org/download/download-easy.html.es
