R&D conference series in the Departament d'Informàtica

From the Departament d'Informàtica we start a conference series in order to bring to the university community in the ETSE the tasks that the professors carry out in subjects related to the research tasks in the areas of computer architecture, computer sciences, networking and signal theory and communications.

These conferences are intended to be a meeting point between different research groups. In this way, we encourage the collaboration between them. In addition, these conferences aim to promote the participation of all research staff, especially the staff in the training phase, in order to integrate within the department. Finally, these conferences also plan to make known to all our students, in particular the PhD students, MSc students and students of the last courses of engineering, the different lines of investigation that are currently followed in the Department d’Informàtica.

The initial planning of the first conferences is as follows:

• March 3: Computational Modeling of Cardiac Electrophysiology. Application to diagnosis and treatment of arrhythmias. Prof. Dr. Rafael Sebastián. CoMMLab.

• April 7: Integration of virtualized GPUs into cloud computing infrastructures. Prof. Dr. José M. Claver and Prof. Dr. Juan Gutierrez. (HiPIS).

• May 5: Signal processing in acoustic sensor networks. Prof. Dr. Máximo Cobos and Prof. Dr. Juan J. Perez. (SPAT-HiPIS).
