Imatge de Maria Tamarit a la performance

A line.
I see my reflection in you.
I forget about it.
And in the emptiness there’s a display of fragments of others I’m not anymore.
Time on a piece of paper,
Which is a body.

Description of the performance

“Some balls of black wool hang from the balconies of the courtyard at La Nau. They’re probably alternated with each other, next to the ends of their own threads.

I take each end and start joining them together in my hand, forming a kind of thread made out of threads. Little by little, I stretch them all repeatedly creating a figure on the ground that gets bigger by the minute. The balls of wool move around as if they were alive. This action lasts for about 10 minutes until one of the balls of wool is completely unrolled.”

Transition

“I take up a position in which the body goes into a situation of inactivity, unshaped. Slowly, gestures start to appear, attempts of building a body and gesture from a lifeless body. This action is constantly repeated, like a dance. The body starts taking on a shape, but then it gets destroyed and started over once again. During this process of construction, deconstruction and transition into a present body, I move closer to the exhibition. I capture the gestures of the public and they serve as a mirror to me, so I keep building the gesture until I get to Concha’s work. Then, the drawings inspire me like a reflection, in a dance that attempts to bring the audience into the present moment, so that they can start perceiving the work of Concha Ros more sensitively.”
