Nacen olivos en Gaza (Olive trees grow in Gaza) explores, from various perspectives, the resilience of Palestine, shaped by a sense of “we” that emerges from acts of presence and visibility.
These words from Quran, “So be patient with beautiful patience.” They convey a clear message in which light and beauty are presented as the foundation of hope—a foundation we must not overlook. Because birth still occurs, despite the destruction and ruins; even in the gap, an olive tree continues to grow, a very significant tree for Palestine, but also for peace. In that gap, in that in-between space, there is a cry of life and possibility that cannot be silenced.
Because the subject of hope is the speaking plural—it is a “we” in which being, in its present participle and in its practice, inevitably seeps into forms of correspondence and dialogue; even when hostility is the way of life, that green shoot persists, reaching out to all, brimming with existence.
Nacen olivos en Gaza (Olive trees grow in Gaza) is an adaptation of the exhibition of the same name, created for the Universitat de València, that took place in Culture Centre a Nau, from December 12,2025 to March 22,2026.
