The origin of the Library goes back to 1785, with a donation of books from Francisco Pérez Bayer. It was inaugurated in 1788, Vicente Blasco being the first director. Today, that same library located in the building of La Nau (Universitat St., 2) is the Historical Library, which houses manuscripts, incunabula and printed documents published between the 16th and the 20th centuries.
