SYNOPSIS

1871. In a remote fishing village on the Danish coast, dominated by Puritan tradition, two unmarried sisters nostalgically recall their distant youth. The appearance of Babette, who arrives from Paris fleeing terror, will change their lives.

The new arrival is welcomed as a servant and, years later, she will have the opportunity to repay the kindness and warmth with which she is received by organising an opulent dinner with the best dishes and wines of French gastronomy.
