El coleccionista (The Collector, William Wyler, United Kingdom, 1965) is a masterpiece by Wyler. The protagonist is an apparently polite and innocent man with a complex personality. His motivation is to get the love of an intelligent, educated, full-of-life young girl. This film has a small cast: only two characters, one so different from the other. They together develop a distressing plot.
Films will be screened in original version with subtitles, digital format. Screenings shall be preceded by a short introduction and followed by an open discussion.
