Cartel Conferencia Eva Máñez
Peru: Impunity, Sexual Violence and Feminicide

Journalist Eva Máñez will give a conference, Perú: Impunidad, violencia sexual y feminicidio, about her work in Peru: “A woman is murdered every two days, that means 10 each month. 45% of abusers are still free. Abortion is illegal and more than 200.000 people have been sterilised without consent.”

Eva Máñez is a daily collaborator in Valencia Plaza and other media since more than fifteen years ago; among them is El salto, where she has published several articles, including both photography and text. She is trying to combine solidarity with charity work so that she can tell the stories she likes and those that can help others ask themselves important things. She has participated in many solo and group exhibitions through her career.  Thus she published and exhibited a work on Haiti before the earthquake. Her work about Iraq was published on the book Galería de gente victoriosa. She has worked in Palestine, Guinea, Jordan, Mexico or Peru. And she has collaborated with several organisations with courses of photography as a means to knowing oneself. She is currently engaged in a project about seaside villages and towns of València. Last year a part of it was showed, specifically a video show called La Playa.
