STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS
With regard to admission systems and procedures adapted to students with special educational needs, the Universitat de València has the Disability Unit (uvdiscapacidad), which ensures respect for the principle of equal opportunities and non-discrimination and provides support to students with special educational needs arising from a condition of disability. On its website you can consult the list of services, the programmes it develops, the resources available, the disability plans approved by the university and the agreements and networks with other institutions or groups (https://www.uv.es/uvdiscapacidad/es/uvdiscapacidad.html).
Likewise, and in accordance with Royal Decree 1892/2008, of November 14, which regulates the conditions for access to official undergraduate university education and the admission procedures to Spanish public universities, 5% of the available places will be reserved for students with a recognized degree of disability equal to or greater than 33%, as well as for those students with permanent special educational needs associated with personal circumstances of disability, who during their previous schooling have required resources and support for their full educational normalization.
PART-TIME STUDENTS
Up to 30% of the places will be reserved for those students who wish to study part-time. The admission criteria and procedures will be equivalent to those required for part-time students. These students may become full-time students when they so request in writing to the Academic Committee of the Doctoral Program and with the prior agreement of their Thesis Director (or tutor, if applicable).
Similarly, full-time students may request the CAPD to change to part-time studies, with the prior agreement of their thesis Director (or tutor) and provided that, if the change is granted, the number of part-time students does not exceed 30% of the total number of students in the PD. In both cases, the CAPD will make the necessary calculation to estimate the remaining time for the completion of the doctoral thesis by the doctoral student.
