  The Doctoral Academic Committee (CAD) will assign to the doctoral student at the time of the tutor's admission. And in the period of six months since the enrolment of the student a thesis supervisor.

  The figures of the tutor and supervisor will coincide whenever it is possible. Unless the supervisor does not belong to the Department of Spanish, will be necessary to assign to the doctoral student a tutor of our department, who will be able, prior consent of the supervisor, to act as a thesis co-supervisor as well.

  All the members of the Department of Spanish doctors, as confirmed research experience. The Doctoral Academic Committee, having heard the doctoral students and the supervisor or tutor, will be able to modify the appointment of their tutor or supervisor in any moment of the doctoral period, on condition that justified reasons concur.

  The thesis shall be co-directed, prior authorisation of the Doctoral Academic Committee, by other Spanish or foreign doctors with accredited research experience, without regard to the university, centre or institution in which their services are lent, on condition that concur reasons of academic nature, as it is the case of new directors, of the interdisciplinary of the subject or the programmes developed in national or international collaboration.

  The appointment of the thesis supervisor will be associated with the signature of a letter of engagement signed by the University of Valencia, the coordinator of the programme, the doctoral student and the supervisor, tutor in its case, who will include the obligations and rights of the reports, the resolution procedure of conflicts and the relative aspects to the intellectual or industrial property rights which can be created in the field of the doctoral programme.
