Registration for the doctoral thesis project

Doctoral candidates should download the corresponding document from the website of the Postgraduate Centre.

The document consists of three forms:

• Pre-registration application form for the Thesis Project
  • Must be filled in by the student and signed together with the Thesis Supervisor or Supervisors
• Approval of the Project
  • The doctoral candidate must leave this form in blank. It must be filled in and signed by the Doctoral Studies Committee, having regard to the application issued by the student
• Abstract of the doctoral thesis project
  • The form must be filled in by the doctoral candidate and signed by the Thesis Director.
  • It is accompanied by a document with the abstract of the thesis project: objectives, methodology and bibliography.

The application (form 1) with the other documents must be issued before the corresponding Doctoral Studies Committee.

Once the Doctoral Studies Committee approves the project (form 2) all the documents must be submitted to the office of the secretary of the USIT. The USIT will send all the documents to the Postgraduate Centre and will keep a copy.

The Postgraduate Centre will register the thesis project in a specific database.

Clarification on the deadlines:

There is not a specific deadline to carry out the registration to the thesis project. It is a procedure that is compulsory for the doctoral candidate, who must carry it out previously to the application for the deposit of the thesis, knowing that the deadline to carry out the latter (the application for the deposit) is of three years since admitted to the doctorate programme (or 5 years if it was on a part time basis).
